We are holding a fostering information recruitment drop in day on Saturday 21st October at the St Nicholas Shopping Centre in Sutton, SM1 1AY from 9am to 5pm. The SFS team will be on the ground floor, right in the middle by Café Kiko. We are recruiting foster carers in Sutton, Merton, Croydon and the surrounding London Boroughs and Surrey to meet the high demand for homes for children from the local communities.
This is a great opportunity for people interested in fostering to talk to our social workers and foster carers to find out what fostering with SFS is really like and how the recruitment process works. Out team are happy to talk to people new to fostering and also experienced foster carers who are interested in transferring. SFS offer high levels of support and training to ensure we’re there alongside you every step of the way.
We’re particularly interested in talking to people who are able to offer a home to a child over the age of 12 and to those people who have enough space to look after sibling groups so that brothers and sisters are able to live together. Often we as an agency are asked to find homes for young mothers with babies, we need to help them learn how best to look after their baby and assess what else they need to be doing to meet their child’s needs.
At SFS we are also sometimes requested to look after children with learning difficulties or physical disabilities. People who have experience looking after children with special needs, through family or work often have particular skills to make a real difference.
